Hadith of the Week
Dua When Breaking the Fast
The Prophet of Allah ﷺ used to read this Dua when he broke his fast. [Abu Dawood]
4 Ways the Prophet ﷺ Gave Charity
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was known for his generosity.
Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "The Prophet ﷺ was the most generous of people…" (Bukhari)
The Prophet ﷺ continuously encouraged his followers to help others, calling upon Muslims to support their families, neighbours, communities and the wider ummah.
Emphasising the importance of charity, the Prophet ﷺ said: "Generosity is near to Allah, near to Paradise, near to the people, and far from the Hellfire…" (Tirmidhi)
1. He fed the poor ﷺ: "He is not a Muslim whose stomach is full while his neighbor goes hungry." (Muslim)
2. He gave water to the needy ﷺ: "The best form of charity is to give someone water (to drink)." (Ibn Majah)
3. He helped orphans ﷺ: "Blessed is the wealth of the Muslim, from which he gives to the poor, the orphan and the wayfarer." (Muslim)
4. He took care of widows ﷺ: "The person who assists and takes care of the widow… is like the person who is striving in the path of Allah…" (Bukhari and Muslim)
The Prophet ﷺ said: "None of you have faith until you love for your neighbour what you love for yourself." (Muslim)

JUMU‘A REFLECTION: THE FULL MOON OF BADR
Assalamu’alaykum all. Jumu’a Mubarak!
Today, we commemorate the great event of the battle of Badr in our history.
Allah says: “Allah certainly granted you victory at Badr, while you were lowly….” (3:123). That is, while you were in a state of need and deprivation.
The saintly ‘ulama teach: Actively realize your attributes, He will grant you of His Attributes: Realize your lowliness, He will grant you of His Nobility; realize your incapacity, He will grant you of His Power; realize your weakness, He will grant you of His strength.
In the remaining days and nights of this blessed month, let us realize and express our attributes through the struggle of being in loving, worshipful surrender to Him — the very spirit of i’itikaf — and may Allah grant us victory, through Him, of hearts unclouded, whole and resplendent. Amin.
Let us not forget to read Sura al-Kahf today and send abundant salawat on the Beloved ﷺ.
