Hadith of the Week

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:

The strong man is not one who wrestles well but the strong man is one who controls himself when he is in a fit of rage.

Given the current status of the planet and practices in the animal agriculture industry, and the numerous relevant verses in the Quran and available Hadiths, the Sunnah would be to give up all animal products and go vegan. Otherwise, one would have to explain how the Beloved ﷺ would stand for the destruction of total ecological systems, deforestation, overfishing, animal abuse that is both physical and emotional, as well as atmospheric and water pollution.

Dua Before Eating

When the Prophet ﷺ was presented food, he praised Allah and acknowledged the blessings given. He taught us to recite the Name of Allah at the beginning of every task or deed, including eating. In doing so we are following the Prophet’s Sunnah ﷺ.

Ayah of the Week

‎فَاذْكُرُونِي أَذْكُرْكُمْ وَاشْكُرُوا لِي وَلَا تَكْفُرُونِ

Therefore remember Me, I will remember you, and be thankful to Me, and do not be ungrateful to Me.

[Quran, 2:152]

Getting Through The Pain

We all go through tough times in life, some more than others. How we deal with those challenges will shape our lives forever.

Jumu'ah Mubarak from Al-Madina!

Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

مَنْ قَرَأَ سُورَةَ الْكَهْفِ فِي يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ أَضَاءَ لَهُ مِنَ النُّورِ مَا بَيْنَ الْجُمُعَتَيْنِ

Whoever recites Surat al-Kahf on Friday will have a light between this Friday and the next.
